A Subaru BRZ isn’t the most obvious choice for building into a rally car, but the DirtFish crew accepted the challenge. After stripping the BRZ to its metal, DirtFish seam-welded the chassis, fabricated the rollcage, built out a new front end, and widened the transmission tunnel for a sequential gearbox.

The DirtFish crew cut away extensive sheet metal for this BRZ rally build, both to lighten the chassis and for improved servicing. The goal was to make the car easy to service, especially in the heat of rally competition. Fabricating a rollcage required preserving as much of the BRZ’s scant headroom as possible.

Tony Torchia, DirtFish shop manager, pushed the crew to flex their creative muscles on this rally-spec BRZ’s fabrication and wiring. Torchia expects the car to be a pretty competitive package when it hits the rally course.
